Honeywell sees ‘room for growth’ in Asia-Pacific
Honeywell predicts growing demand to modernise military aircraft fleets in Asia-Pacific. Air forces around the region have ageing aircraft fleets, and this is boosting demand for retrofit, modification and upgrade services.
Speaking to Shephard at Defense & Security 2019 in Bangkok, Jason Baek, customer business director, ASEAN defence at Honeywell Aerospace, said one emphasis is Honeywell Forge, a software technology platform that applies AI and machine learning. When applied to commercial aircraft, it can enable predictive maintenance, for instance.
Baek claimed a 95% accuracy rate and cost savings of 20-30% with Forge, but it also has applications in the military
