Harris awarded $12m USAF IT Infrastructure contracts
Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, was awarded four contracts worth a total of over $12 million by the US Air Force's Electronic Systems Center through the Cyber Integration Division, Information Transport Systems Program Management Office.
Under the contracts, Harris will install core IT infrastructure upgrades through extensive cabling and networking components at the four US Air Force bases. These bases include: Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana; Creech Air Force Base, Nevada; Randolph Air Force Base, Texas; and Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
"Harris Corporation's selection was based on our cost-effective solution and strong past performance integrating active duty, reserve, and Air National Guard units into a single network infrastructure," said John Heller, president, Harris IT Services. "Harris continues to deliver proven performance on IT infrastructure contracts, building on our deep understanding of our customer's core networks and mission requirements."
The Harris team includes subcontractor Trans-Tel Central, Inc. The projects were awarded under the Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle.
