Elbit Systems has been awarded a four-year contract worth more than $90 million by an undisclosed Asia-Pacific country, for the supply its Spectro XR advanced electro-optic systems, the company announced on 11 September.
Spectro XR is an ultra-long-range, day/night, multi-spectral electro-optical intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance system. Its core imaging system combines multiple cameras into one, with fully digital sensors and lasers for stabilisation and operation in adverse weather conditions.
The modular design of Spectro XR allows users to select the configuration best suited to their needs, both in terms of cost and performance. The system can be installed on a variety of platforms including fixed-wing and rotary airborne platforms, land applications, naval vessels and aerostats.
Spectro XR can be integrated with various other systems onboard, such as helmet-mounted tracking systems, data-links, radar and mission computers.
