Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army

The UK Ministry of Defence opened its new Chinook Mk 6 synthetic training facility at Royal Air Force (RAF) Odiham in Hampshire on 21 November.
The Chinook Mk 6 synthetic training facility is home to two flight deck device simulators, a rear crew device and a suite of computer based training equipment. The highly realistic and immersive environment will allow aircrew to
undertake training operations such as a battlefield resupply or a medical evacuation in a whole-crew synthetic environment.
The facility will be used to train crews on how to work together during a range of flying operations, including emergency scenarios such as rotor blade damage, turbulence caused by adjacent aircraft, complex electrical emergencies and fuel management hazards. The facility will also train crews in mission capabilities of the Chinook Mk6 aircraft, such as relocating troops and equipment around the battlefield or evacuating citizens from dangerous conditions in national and overseas environments.The Chinook Mk6 Synthetic Training System will deliver around 4,000 simulator hours each year for a period of ten years.

This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.
The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
