TerraSim releases TerraTools 5.6
TerraSim has introduced TerraTools 5.6, the latest version of its virtual terrain generation software, the company announced on 9 April.
The new software introduces a new plug-in for generating custom high-resolution VBS Blue IG insets to enhance the default global dataset. The new exporter can be easily added to an existing TerraTools project or use the OmniWizard to quickly start a new project with correlated terrain exports to VBS Blue IG and any other supported runtime.
TerraTools is a military simulation and training industry virtual terrain generation software. It produces high-fidelity, correlated geo-specific environments for use across visual, constructive, and serious game runtime applications.
TerraTools VBS Blue IG Source Plug-in generates high-resolution insets for VBS Blue IG that override the global terrain database for a specified region, giving users complete control over DEM, satellite imagery, models, surface mask and roads layers. OmniWizard has been upgraded for quick-start of new projects that correlate between VBS3 and VBS Blue IGThe VBS Export Plug-in provides support for export to VBS3 v18.1 and predefined AI road networks which replace the old object-based road network system used for AI vehicle pathfinding. This new technology can be used to define additional attributes for lanes, one-way roads and crosswalks for VBS Control.
