Taiwan rolls out jet trainer prototype
The Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) rolled out a prototype of Taiwan’s new advanced jet trainer (AJT) on 24 September, in a ceremony witnessed by high-level officials from the government and the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF).
Modified from the in-service F-CK-1 fighter (also known as the Indigenous Defense Fighter, or IDF), the new trainer has been nicknamed Brave Hawk. The aircraft is a joint effort by AIDC, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology and the ROCAF’s development department.
