Latvia orders Carl-Gustaf training solution
Latvian Armed Forces placed an order for Saab’s Carl-Gustaf Ground Combat Indoor Trainer. Deliveries of the order will take place in 2023.
Saab’s Ground Combat Indoor trainer provides the user with replica weapons, a virtual environment and a sophisticated evaluation for realistic and accurate training.
Latvian Armed Forces has been an existing user of the Carl-Gustaf system for more than two decades and placed the order for Carl-Gustaf M4 in May 2020
The order is placed within the ten-year framework agreement, signed by Saab and participating nations, which allows Latvia, Estonia and Sweden to place orders for Carl-Gustaf M4 ammunition and associated training equipment.
Åsa Thegström, head of Saab’s business unit said ‘This order will bring a highly realistic and cost-efficient virtual training solution to Latvian Armed Forces. Saab offers the complete high-technological solution, from production of the Carl-Gustaf M-4, to ammunition and a virtual training experience, which is as close as possible to using the real weapons in real scenarios’.
