KBR has received a Facilities Management Services Operations (FMSO) contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), the company announced on 9 October.

The initial period of this contract is three years, worth $48 million, with an option to extend up to two years.

KBR will now be the sole supplier delivering facilities management services to the UK MoD on deployed operations.

The contract will see KBR deliver a range of hard and soft services across the UK MoD's operational estate in the Middle East, including operating and maintaining existing infrastructure assets and optimising the use of assets across the operational estates.

KBR will provide cost effective delivery for real life support services including catering, cleaning, laundry, waste management and pest control services. The services will also include ground maintenance, reprographics, office machinery and government furnished equipment servicing and maintenance.

The contract has scope to support both operational deployments and exercises undertaken by the UK MoD on a call off basis, particularly in the Middle East.
