Australia selects NBC gear
OPEC Systems, an Australian company established in 1992, has signed a contract with Leidos Australia to supply four types of equipment as part of Project Land 2110 Phase 1B, a programme entitled Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Defence.
The contract is worth A$23 million ($15.8 million), and materiel will be rolled out between January and March 2020.
The four types of equipment being delivered are as follows: Kestrel medium-weight protective CBRN suits; collapsible wastewater containment bunds of various sizes for contaminated liquids; collapsible and helicopter-portable liquid storage drums for containing potable and wastewater; and decontamination mitts for rapid chemical decontamination.
