The US Air Force (USAF) has extended Cubic Global Defense's (CGD) contract to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) human-centred intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance division, the company announced on 17 August.

The $9.9 million additional award brings the five-year contract's total value to $19.8 million. Under the contract, CGD will continue to provide solutions to strengthen the USAF's Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) counter proliferation and survivability missions programme, by evaluating, testing, researching and analysing short- and long-term CBRN technologies.

Chris Bellios, senior vice president, defence and intel services, CGD, said: ‘With the successful efforts of the initial investment, the increase in the contract ceiling is a testament to Cubic’s superior service and ongoing partnership with the US Air Force.

‘Finding advanced solutions and procedures in CBRN counter proliferation for optimal response and recovery is an important mission for our military partners and for Cubic.’
