UK's new weapon location system project becomes Serpens

The new Next Generation Weapon Locating System (NGWLS) project, introduced by the UK MoD at DVD 2018, will now be known under a new name, Serpens.

The MoD provided Shephard with details of the newly christened project including that it will be integrated with the UK’s future ISTAR architecture, known as Zodiac.

‘The programme has been rebranded as Serpens this year to reflect the broader capability that will be delivered as a result of its integration with Zodiac. It sits as a constituent part of the Land ISTAR Programme,' a spokesperson said.
