Saab rolls out first GlobalEye destined for UAE

Saab has rolled out the first of three GlobalEye Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) aircraft for the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The UAE selected Saab to provide three of the aircraft from a clean sheet design. The development and production contract was awarded at the 2015 Dubai Air Show for two aircraft under a $1.27 billion contract. An agreement for the third system was announced in 2017.

This first aircraft is equipped and being prepared for ground and flight trials to gather aerodynamic data as part of the ongoing development and production programme.
