Raytheon has confirmed that it has completed its CDR as part of its Family of Beyond-Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) Alternative contract with the US Air Force, as it prepares for an operational test towards the end of the year.
In 2002 Raytheon lost out to Boeing for the original FAB-T contract award. However, delays to the programme – and a need to field the protected SATCOM communication terminals – led to an alternative two-year contract being awarded to Raytheon September 2012 to challenge the production being carried out by Boeing.
