Paris Air Show 2013: New safety devices for AgustaWestland helicopters
Aero Sekur has been awarded a contract by AgustaWestland to provide emergency helicopter flotation devices.
They will be used on-board AW139, AW169 and AW189 helicopters as well as the AW609 tiltrotor. This is the first flotation device delivered for a tiltrotor, according to the company.
‘One of the problems with flotation and life craft systems is that they are often forgotten in the development process,’ Mark Butler, chairman and group chief executive of the company, told Shephard during the Paris Air Show. ‘You then have to add them to a system at the end of the programme.
