Opal provides faster upgrade path according to IAI
With the official launch of IAI’s new Opal system, military users will be able to provide software upgrades much faster than at present and cutting months of the process, according to officials.
Following the launch, Yossi Melamed, executive VP and GM of the company’s Aviation Group, told Shephard that the system was ‘unique’ and provides interoperability of communications and operational capabilities between air and ground forces, serving as a force multiplier.
‘I believe it will be a major asset for air, sea and ground users and enhance their performance in the future battlefield,’ he added.
