DefExpo 2016: Rolta-BEL developing BMS
The competition for a Battlefield Management System (BMS) for the Indian Army is heating up as the competitors unveil their products.
Rolta displayed a prototype of its proposed version of a BMS aboard a battalion command post vehicle at DefExpo 2016.
After bids for the Indian Army’s BMS requirement were submitted in February 2015, just two consortia were selected midyear to develop the BMS under the Make in India category of the Defence Procurement Procedure (DPP). Rolta is working with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), competing against a team consisting of Tata Power SED and Larsen & Toubro.
