CPI receives modified purchase orders for NGJ-MB
CPI Aerostructures has received modified purchase orders totalling $12.5 million from Raytheon related to the engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) phase of the US Navy’s Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB), the company announced on 30 August.
Under Raytheon's EMD contract, the company is working on a system that aims to expand and eventually replace the ALQ-99 system on the navy’s EA-18G Growler carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft. There are two pods per EA-18G aircraft.
The latest contract modifications for CPI are for work scope changes associated with earlier contracts to build pod structural housings, including additional systems integration efforts that will be performed during build-up of the pod assembly.
The company expects to complete the work for the EMD phase systems in late 2019.
