Brazil trains with customised COMBATER

20th July 2015 - 12:00 GMT | by Tim Fish in Brazil

The Brazilian Army is training with a fully customised COMBATER simulation system for the first time during Exercise Liberdade Azul earlier this month.

It is a COTS system based on the SWORD constructive simulation system from MASA.

Customisation includes the full adaptation of the system’s language and user interfaces; unit specifications and equipment details and inserting the doctrinal behaviours of Brazil’s military forces.

The latter element has been completed after local Brazilian integrator Decatron and the simulation system provider MASA worked for less than 18 months to ensure that the Command Staff Trainer is fully capable of representing unit behaviours
