AUVSI: Harris ISR module to reduce SWAP

Harris is developing an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) 'module' for its AN/PRC-117G radio, designed to extend its capability and reduce size, weight and power (SWAP) requirements, Digital Battlespace has been informed.

According to Joe Adams, head of US Army sales at Harris RF Communications Division, the module will include RF-7800T radio and HF capabilities as well as a second wideband channel. The module will mean operators will have the option of carrying a single 7800T and 117G integrated system in place of two separate radios.
