Singapore outlines procurements for 2020 and beyond
Singapore’s Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) has outlined its equipment requirements to ensure the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) remain lethal beyond 2020-30.
Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen told media in his annual SAF Day interview that forward planning and careful procurement has allowed the SAF to respond quickly to threats and requirements not conceived a decade ago.
On land, he said the number of motorised and tracked units would double from 2030.
