Quad A 2016: Army fixed-wing training on course
New facilities are being built by CAE USA to train more than 600 US Army and US Air Force (USAF) fixed-wing pilots a year.
The site is taking shape at Dothan Regional Airport in Alabama, despite legal action being lodged by a rival company.
Simulation and training prime contractor CAE USA is building a 75,000 sq ft complex as part of a seven-year US Army contract that was awarded to the Tampa-based company in June 2015. The contract stipulates that the contract winner has to commence fixed-wing training a year after contract award.
