P-8 training from East to West
Six squadrons based at the naval air station in Jacksonville, Florida are now up to speed with the P-8 Poseidon.
The next round of training, conducted by VP-30, will take place in the autumn of this year for the squadrons located in Whidbey on the West Coast of the US.
Lieutenant Sergio Ibarra of VP-30 squadron explained that one of the factors that has helped some US Navy personnel transition to the P-8 is the conceptual ‘commonality’ between the P-3 and P-8.
