MSPO 2019: Weapons accord opens up Brimstone to Polish Destroyer

A joint cooperation agreement signed between PGZ and pan-European missile manufacturer MBDA will provide manufacturers involved in Poland's Tank Destroyer programme an opportunity to integrate the Brimstone weapon system on their respective platforms.

The accord includes Brimstone technology transfer from MBDA to PGZ and represents a firm sign from the former manufacturer that it has aspirations of increasing sales of the munition as a surface-to-surface asset, behind the more common air-to-surface buyer trend.

As part of the Tank Destroyer effort, weapons capable of countering ‘massed armour formations’ were sought by Poland, with Brimstone suited to match such a requirement because
