FIDAE: Ruag proposes Leopard upgrade
The Chilean Army is in the study phase of potential mid-life upgrade (MLU) for its Leopard 2A4 MBTs and Ruag is proposing its MLU package, Shephard has learned.
Andreas Häusler, product manager of Leopard systems at Ruag, told Shephard that the company met with the Chilean Army the week prior to the FIDAE exhibition on 25-30 March to present the Ruag MLU option.
He said that Ruag completed the delivery of an MLU package for 134 Leopard MBTs of the Swiss Army in 2013 that included the installation of an electric turret drive, optronics and other minor additions.
