Australia releases RfT for combat reconnaissance vehicles
Australia released its long-awaited request for tender (RfT) on 19 February for 225 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles (CRV) for the Australian Army under Land 400 Phase 2.
This phase will replace the Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) fleet (pictured), of which General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) provided 257 examples.
Defence Minister Kevin Andrews said, ‘The [ASLAV] fleet will reach the end of its life around 2021. The government is committed to replacing and enhancing the army’s fleet of combat vehicles and other land force capabilities to best protect our soldiers.’
