Aussie Land 400 initiated
Australia’s Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) has kick-started the Australian Army’s massive Land 400 Phase 2 vehicle acquisition programme.
In an announcement on the 10 December the DMO made a formal request for tender (RfT) for the project and said the programme would be launch early in January 2015.
This is the third attempt at a procurement solution for Land 400 Phase 2 with previous Requests for Information being issued in 2006 and 2010.
Worth an estimated USD8.3 billion and encompassing up to 1,100 vehicles, this programme constitutes the army’s largest ever procurement. It will replace incumbent M113AS4 tracked vehicles, Australian
