UK unveils Cyber Security Strategy

The UK government has published its much-anticipated Cyber Security Strategy as it seeks to combat the ‘Tier One’ threat posed by state actors and terrorists via the internet. 

Unveiling the ‘Cyber Security Strategy: Protecting and promoting the UK in a digital world’ report on 25 November, cabinet office minister Francis Maude said: ‘We also need to update our military defence capabilities for a new cyber world.’

Publication of the strategy follows the National Security Strategy which set aside £650 million to develop a ‘transformative’ Cyber Security programme. The four-year Cyber Security Strategy will report annually and is scheduled to run
