Turkey frigates receive new CMS
The combat management system (CMS) currently installed on the Turkish Navy's Barbaros-class frigates is to be replaced with a locally-developed system from companies Aselsan and HAVELSAN.
The two companies will provide the B-SYS (Barbaros Savaş Yönetim Sistemi) CMS to replace the existing Thales Nederland TACTICOS CMS fitted to the frigates.
Aselsan and HAVELSAN - both state-controlled companies - were contracted by Istanbul Naval Supply Group Command (İDIGK) and the Turkish Naval Research Center Command (ARMERKOM) on behalf of Turkish Naval Forces Command for the new improvements to the ships.
