Thales integrates VX6090 into radar application
Thales has successfully integrated and tested Kontron’s VX6090, a 6U VPX Dual 8-core Intel Xeon D processor blade computer, in a radar application, Kontron announced on 9 January.
Kontron’s VX6090 combines dense processing with 10 Gigabit Ethernet communication fabrics and I/O connectivity to form a powerful and flexible platform for SWaP-constrained missions.
The system can be used in streaming radar signal processing, image-processing and embedded server-type applications.
Kontron VX6090 integrates two secure elements, Kontron APPROTECT and Trusted Platform Module (TPM), to provide security protection through trusted boot, authentication by TPM and secure boot solutions.
Alain Spors, director of sales, Kontron, said: ‘We are very proud to have been selected by a worldwide leader of radar systems for the delivery of high performance blade computers. The VX6090 has met the performance and the level of quality in volume production required by our customer.’
