Sagem masts for Swedish subs
Four Swedish Navy submarines will be equipped with Sagem optronic masts under a contract awarded to the company by Swedish shipyard Saab Kockums.
Under the contract, the company will provide Sagem Series 30 optronic surveillance masts to outfit two future A26 class submarines and two in-service Gotland class submarines. It will also provide initial logistic services. Options for additional systems are included.
The masts use modern non-penetrating technology for the subs' pressure hulls, providing optronic surveillance in a compact and integrated multi-sensor package.
Sagem's Series 30 family has been supplied for the Scorpène class submarines built by DCNS for the international market, and the future Suffren class nuclear attack submarines for the French Navy's Barracuda programme.
