Salamandre HF waveform ready
Thales is completing the development of a new 4G advanced waveform for high-frequency (HF) radio systems.
The new wideband technology is designated as HF XL and was unveiled by the company in early March and is expected to offer more capability to troops than is provided by existing systems.
This effort is being carried out under the SALAMANDRE study programme (Programme d’Étude Amont Système Avancé pour Liaisons HF Adaptatives Multi-bANDes Rapides et Efficientes), which was contracted to Thales in December 2013 by the French DGA.
