Netherlands requests Patriot RECAP
The US State Department has made a determination approving a potential foreign military sale of four Netherlands Patriot fire units to the Netherlands, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced on 5 September.
In a package worth $105 million, the Netherlands has requested recapitalisation (RECAP) of four Patriot fire units. The RECAP includes radar sets, radar digital processors, engagement control stations, information and coordination central, modem man stations, launching stations and post deployment build-8 upgrades along with support services, testing and other related elements of logistics and programme support, which will produce fire units at the Configuration 3+ capability.
The Patriot fire units will enhance the Netherlands' homeland defence, deter regional threats and provide direct support to coalition and security cooperation efforts.
