Indra to develop Eurofighter radar
Indra has closed a €90 million ($104.22 million) deal to work on developing the new radar system Captor-E for the Eurofighter, the company announced on 19 January.
A team of more than 100 engineers will be required to carry out innovation and development work over the next few years.
The NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) had signed an agreement in November 2014 with representatives of the European industry to develop and integrate a new technologically advanced radar system. The development of Captor-E is a part of this agreement.
The system's electronic scanned array technology and the antenna's ability to move will bring Eurofighter Typhoona very wide field of view. Additionally, the new radar has great potential for the development of a wide range of capabilities and features, such as carrying out several operations at the same time.
