Indra, CODALTEC team for air defence system
Indra and the Corporación de Alta Tecnología para la Defensa (CODALTEC) have extended their collaboration to develop an air defence system to meet Colombian military requirements, Indra announced on 26 June.
Under a previous agreement, which ended in 2017, CODALTEC delivered the advanced high-mobility tactical radar, the Tactical Air Defense Radar (TADER), to the Colombian Air Force, which had been specially designed to detect aircraft flying at low altitude.
The companies will now develop a C2 system to monitor airspace. The system will receive data provided by different sensors and merge it to present a comprehensive and integrated vision of the battlespace. The system will be capable of immediately detecting any risk and deploying the necessary actions to neutralise it.
The TADER radar will also be a key element of the sensor network in the future air defence system. The system will be fully interoperable with other subsystems to allow it to incorporate new technologies, and will be able to integrate the equipment used by the armed forces of other countries.
