IDEF 2017: Aselsan launches pocket reciever

A new lightweight pocket receiver has been launched by Aselsan at IDEF.

The Mirket (or Meerkat) has been designed by the company for clandestine use. A company spokesperson told Shephard that at just 500g it is light and portable.

He said that it gives the operator a listening capability so that soldiers can check transmissions in their area of operations.

Mirket operates in the 20-6,000MHz range and is just 65mm x 100mm x 22 mm in size without the battery. The spokesperson said that the idea is that it does not have an impact on the soldier and that potentially
