New satellite telecomms for French armed forces
Orange Business Services has teamed up with Telespazio France to provide satellite telecommunications services to the French armed forces.
The French Joint Directorate for Infrastructure Networks and Information Systems selected the companies to supply several satellite communication capabilities and associated managed services. The services will facilitate communications for field missions where end-to-end security is vital.
The companies will provide the jointly-developed National Meta-Operator for Satellite Connections (MONaLiSat). MONaLiSat relies on a range of satellite telecommunications services and associated equipment which both partners have used to meet the specific requirements of the ministry.
The solution will help supply land and maritime communications in several bands and meet the mobility needs of deployed forces.
Telespazio France is a subsidiary of Telespazio - a joint venture between Leonardo, 67%, and Thales, 33%.
