RFP released for Kiribati maritime safety vessel
New Zealand has released a Request For Proposals (RFP) for a new maritime safety vessel for Kiribati.
The RFP describes proposals for an ocean-going boat that is 7-9m in length and capable of operating up to Sea State 5-6. It must also have a top speed of 35-40kt with a service speed of 20-25kt and a 200 nm range.
The boat will be used for security patrols and search and rescue in atolls near to Kiribati and it must be able to tow other vessels and be provided with a galvanised road trailer for transport.
