Opinion: USMC commandant’s guidance turns from sandbox to Asia
It took a while, but the USMC officially woke up to China a few months ago. The new Marine Corps Commandant Gen David Berger’s formal guidance declared the corps would focus on Asia-Pacific and gird its loins against the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). And if there was doubt, he described China the other day as a ‘long-term threat’.
