Norway unveils strategic investment plan

The Norwegian government has announced a new long-term strategic development plan for its armed forces, with an emphasis on greater investment in upgrades and new capabilities.

Norway will increase defence spending by NOK16.5 billion ($1.57 billion) by 2028 compared with its current budget of NOK61 billion.

The long-term plan was released during a press conference on 17 April. The document details the budget for modernisation and procurement to ensure the readiness of the national armed forces and reduce operational gaps.
