Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army
The company’s mortar trainer received improvements based on soldier’s feedback.
RP Aero Systems has been acquired by EDM, a provider of training simulators to the defence and civil aviation industries, the company announced on 2 August.
RP Aero Systems is a UK-based supplier of aircraft cabin crew safety and service training systems. The company also supplies composite components, fabrications and assemblies.
EDM provides defence organisations with procedure trainers, maintenance trainers, ejection seats, simulators and full-size replicas.
Stephen Foster, founder, RP Aero Systems, said: ‘I am very excited that RP Aero Systems is now part of the EDM group. This combination will create a strong global business with the financial and technical resources to service our customers and to deliver key product innovations. RP will continue to operate its brand and our manufacturing and customer support will continue from our Littlehampton facility.’

The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
