Ravenswood Solutions has received a $1.3 million contract in support of the US Army Joint Modernization Command (JMC) with communications services during a network integration evaluation (NIE), the company announced on 28 August.
The NIE will take place in autumn 2018 at Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. During the exercise, JMC will analyse current army soldier challenges and assess new capabilities and doctrine.
Under the contract, Ravenswood will provide support via its Mobile Ground Truth System, known as FlexTrain. FlexTrain is a rapidly deployable, global positioning system-based instrumentation system that tracks vehicles, units and individual participants during training or testing exercises.
The system enables real-time casualty assessment; and provides a record of causal factors affecting capabilities changes and a common operating picture that shows both live and constructive elements.

The company will operate in two new locations in the coming years to better support US services.
This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.
The Engineering Corps has been conducting individual instruction using FLAIM Systems’ Sweeper and should start collective deployments in 2025.
The next-generation platform is motion-compatible and can be used in OTW and NVG applications.
The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
