RAF deploy to Czech Republic
The RAF’s 100 Sqn has deployed two of its Hawk T1As and four pilots to Čáslav Air Base in the Czech Republic for a two-week exercise. The RAF Leeming-based unit specialises in dissimilar air combat training (DACT) and close air support (CAS) and is working with the Czech Air Force’s 212 Sqn and its L-159 Advanced Light Combat Aircraft.
Exercise Central Hawk is aimed at training L-159 pilots in the air-to-air mission, which may seem odd seeing as the Czech jet’s primary role is air-to-ground.
