Northrop wins Saudi JTE support contract
Northrop Grumman has received a contract to deliver Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) support services to Saudi Arabia, the company announced on 8 February.
The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is worth $75 million.
The JTE offers realistic warfighter training and provides a modern, reactive battlespace environment that trains military personnel to identify and counter enemy missile and artillery threats.
The robust and ruggedised JTE system can be relocated and is reactive to aircrew/aircraft for fast-jet, fixed-wing and rotary-wing defensive measures. It can also be rapidly reprogrammed with new threat parameters.
Walid Abukhaled, chief executive, Northrop Grumman Middle East, said: ‘Highly advanced and ready for the systems of today and tomorrow, JTE gives Saudi Arabia an important capability for preparing its aircrews for operation in the modern electromagnetic spectrum environment.’
