New trainer for the Royal School of Artillery
Cubic Defence UK (CDUK) has delivered the first of six Artillery Mission Training Systems (AMST) to the Royal School of Artillery (RSA) at Larkhill. The remaining five devices are due to be delivered by 1 December under the terms of the concept demonstrator contract for the 105mm Light Gun.
Each AMST comprises a modified firing box that contains a GPS unit; a sensor that measures elevation and azimuth; a barrel mounted antenna to transmit sensor and GPS positional data and finally, a ruggedized instructor operator station.
