Saab to assemble Ajax turret trainers
Saab has been sub-contracted by Lockheed Martin UK to assemble 16 Ajax virtual crew turret trainers for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) programme, the company announced on 9 October.
The virtual simulator is designed to train the vehicle crew to use all functions of the turret system including armaments, radios and sights.
Saab is already contracted to design and deliver the live simulators for the Ajax and Warrior CSP armoured vehicle platforms.
Andrew Walton, head of country unit UK at Saab, said: ‘It’s exciting to be involved with the UK MoD’s leading equipment programmes and be able to contribute to realistic training for soldiers.’
