Cubic tailors mortar simulator for the US Army

Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) from the Australian Army and the Royal Netherlands Army are carrying out joint training operations at the Delamere Air Weapons Range (DELAWR) during Exercise Pitch Black 2018.
Australian JTACS from 16 Air Land Regiment are working closely with international forces to enhance interoperability with the planning, briefing, controlling and reporting of close air support on the battlefield. The training allows the forces to cross-train and share intelligence to execute a wide range of missions.
Missions have included engaging targets in tactical urban environments, close air support, and target engagements with joint direct attack munitions and laser guided munitions.
DELAWR is the Royal Australian Air Force’s primary range for air-to-surface weapon delivery training. The range is located 536km from Darwin and covers 2,112sq km.

This type of tool provides more realistic training easing the incorporation of new scenarios that accurately represent the threats of the battlefield.

The system can be used to prepare soldiers for both drone offensive operations and CUAS missions.
