The Xebec JV between CAE and Pinnacle Solutions is to provide the US Army with a new and upgraded Maritime Integrated Training System (MITS).
The contract from the Naval Air Warfare Training Systems Division is worth an undisclosed amount.
MITS is a suite of simulation systems designed to train US Army personnel who operate logistics support vessels, manoeuvre transport vessels, large landing craft and expeditionary fast transports.
Xebec will upgrade the existing MITS while adding new simulation systems and capabilities. The JV will be responsible for a comprehensive upgrade and technology refresh of all the existing MITS configurations, including Expeditionary Fast Transport simulation, Full Mission Bridge simulator, and Vessel Defense Simulator.
In particular, Xebec will update the existing MITS to use the latest version of the General Dynamics VirtualShip VR software suite. The MITS upgrade will address a range of cybersecurity requirements and includes enhancements to the instructor operator station, after-action review station, and scenario generation system.
In addition, Xebec will develop and deliver new simulation systems for the Maneuver Support Vessel (Light) and Vessel Handling Workstation to be integrated into the overall MITS.
