IFTS takes delivery of first M346 trainers
The first two new M-346 aircraft for the joint Leonardo-Italian Air Force’s International Flight Training School (IFTS) have been delivered marking a significant milestone for the project. They have joined the other 18 Italian Air Force’s M-346 training aircraft at 61st Wing at Lecce air base in Southern Italy.
According to Leonardo, the new aircraft will be, ‘used to meet the growing demand for training services at the IFTS’, an organisation established under the Leonardo-Italian Air Force Agreement that was signed in July 2018 and aimed at strengthening the training services delivered by the Italian Air Force.
