Aegis Technologies to enrich Vampire
Aegis Technologies has been contracted to work on a programme for the Spanish Ministry of Defense being delivered under an AeroVironment-US Army UAS Foreign Military Sale (FMS), the company announced on 28 December.
Under the contract, the Aegis Technologies will develop geospecific terrain databases and tactical training scenarios to accompany a new set of licenses for its Vampire UAS Embedded Training Simulation.
Vampire is a simulation that trains all operator functions, mission planning activities and emergency procedures for AeroVironment’s family of small UAS systems, which includes Wasp, Raven, Shrike and Puma. It offers operators the ability to train in an immersive virtual environment irrespective of time and place. It runs on AeroVironment’s standard small UAS Ground Control Station.
Del Beilstein, vice president for business development, Aegis, said: ‘Vampire allows operators of AeroVironment’s industry-leading unmanned systems to train anywhere, anytime. We’re excited to extend this important training capability to the Spanish Ministry of Defense.’
