Turkish corvettes near export contracts
The Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik (STM) shipyard is eyeing its first export contracts for the Ada class MiLGEM corvettes, which are currently being built for the Turkish Navy.
The Turkish manufacturer is nearing completion of negotiations with two undisclosed countries in the Middle East, according to Erdem Tümdağ, marketing expert at STM.
STM’s representative acknowledged that contract negotiations could conclude in the upcoming months and signing of export agreements should take place shortly after. Both countries are supposedly interested in procuring three to four corvettes.
